Emma!

Since everyone is always asking where they can find updated information on Emma, I decided to start a blog and hopefully I will update it every few days.

Today has been a normal good day. I went to the hospital first thing this morning & did our normal feed. The nurse had already done her diaper change/temp so I just had to breastfeed her. She has been breastfeeding since last Thursday once a day & she latches on like a champ! I never thought it would mean so much to me but I really feel like we are bonding when she feeds. I really hope I'm able to breastfeed until she's a year old. Yesterday I tried b/f her twice a day~once in the morning and then at 4:30, but she was too tired so tonight we will try around 8pm. I'm hoping she does better but I guess it's a slow process just like everything else. I went back at noon to give her a bottle & when I got there she was screaming her lungs out and had pulled her nasal canula out! It was in her mouth! One thing everyone will soon learn~when Emma wants something she wants it now! It's so hard not to laugh at her because she is so darn cute! Anyways, we proceeded to feed and she took almost 2 ounces of her bottle. I snuggled with her for a few minutes & she fell asleep instantly. Tonight we will go back to the 8pm care time & we will weigh her. Last night she was 3 lbs 12.2 oz so hopefully tonight she will gain an ounce! This is a normal day for me. When I'm not at the hospital I am at home relaxing/cleaning or out running errands. Who knew there were so many things to get done in a day? How did everything get done when I was working? It feels so nice not working but I do miss the extra income!

Earlier this week the doctors said Emma might get to come home this weekend or the beginning of next week!! I am so ready for her to come home, but it is definitely scary! She will be coming home on oxygen which means annoying loud beeping machines. I'm hoping to get her car seat installed tomorrow...I guess I better call the place to make an appt!

Well I hope to post everyday if possible but I'm sure it will be more difficult once she comes home. Here are a couple pics of her and tonight I'm going to take some new pics to be posted tomorrow! Enjoy the afternoon!
