Ooohhh, Pretty Dress!

Today I put Emma in this cute little dress and we headed outside for some pictures. I had to bribe her by taking her to our neighbor's house. She loves our neighbors, Van and Margaret, and always wants to roam around their backyard! They have lots of beautiful flowers and such. So these pics aren't the best quality due to the full sun and an uncooperative 18 month old but they are cute nonetheless. Enjoy!

One of Margaret's beautiful flowers. Had to throw that one in!

Thanks for looking!

*****BREAKING NEWS*****

Yesterday Emma went the ENTIRE day without a bottle!!! Can you believe it? That was the first time ever and keep your fingers crossed that she never has a bottle again. She's been drinking out of a sippy cup for several months now for juice/water, but when it comes to her milk she wants it only in a bottle. So yesterday she asked for it all day long but she never got it and she was fine with it. Mommy and Daddy are SO happy!

Huntsville Photowalk

Here are a few pictures from the photowalk Saturday evening. Emma was moving so fast it was hard to get clear pics, but here are some of our favorites. Enjoy!

We Saw Dr. Mahesh Today!

I didn't realize how hard it was to take Emma to the dr until today. Now that she is so mobile she is all over the place whenever we go out in public. At the pulminologist they have a door that stays closed unless you press the red button. Well Emma had cleaned out my wallet awhile back so I had to call George about our new insurance cards. In the process of calling him I notice Emma has taken off towards the exit door. Thinking the door wouldn't open I thought we were ok until the door actually opened! Who knows how that happened but luckily I was there and caught her. Then I was updated my paperwork while Emma runs around and talking loudly and wanting to go see the little baby across the room. I was sweating by the time they called us back. She is officially a handful! :)

Now on to the visit. Dr. Mahesh and his nurses are so wonderful and it is always a treat to see them. The nurses couldn't believe how grown up Emma looked and at her huge vocabulary. They also loved her curls!

Onto her stats-her weight with all of her clothes on was 21 lbs 8 oz I believe. I don't know how she managed to put on a whole pound in 3 wks b/c the girl doesn't eat at all! But I'll take it! Her ears, nose, and chest sounded wonderful and her runny nose is due to ragweed allergies. Then we started talking about the synagis shots that Emma got last year from October-April. Technically she doesn't qualify for insurance to cover them this year and at $2,000 a shot (I think) we can't afford them. However, if I go back to work and she has to go to daycare Dr. Mahesh thinks we can get them covered. So if we go that route, say a prayer that it all works out and she gets the shots. I would feel much better.

I guess that's it for now. Tomorrow we go to Dr. Dudley for her 18 month appt. I love going to Dr. Dudley too so it'll be fun and she doesn't get any shots! I'll update after our appt tomorrow and until then, toodles. :)

Emma Loves Her Daddy!

Tonight Emma got to spend lots of time with her daddy. Our friend Sam was celebrating her birthday by going out to eat and I had a bad headache/stomachache so daddy took Emma out alone. Then they came home and played hard! I just happened to catch them playing for a couple minutes and it is just so sweet. Enjoy!

"Where'd It Go?"

In case you didn't know, our sweet little Lily is a little overweight. Okay, she's alot overweight! At our last vet visit the vet told us to get her to move around more and that cats love those red pointer lights. So George's coworker left his at work one day or something like that and George brought it home. We thought we would try it out with Lily while we borrowed it. The funny thing is, it wasn't Lily that chased it around, but it was Emma and Braxton! Those 2 are trouble and so funny together!

Ring Around The Rosies...

Today Emma officially learned how to spin in circles! George and I were just laughing at her tonight b/c she is so funny. Enjoy the video.

Lollipop, Lollipop, Whole Lotta Lollipop

So after all of the inside frustration, I decided to bribe Emma with a lollipop outside. Every kid falls for a lollipop, right? Not! She sat still for maybe 3 seconds and then she took off running. I swear the kid goes in all the opposite directions. Anyways, these pics turned out cute so enjoy some more!

Tu Tu Fun!

So mommy decided to get brave and tackle some new pics without daddy's help. Pictures were so much easier when she was smaller! Anyways, after much frustration, here a some super cute ones. Yes, some of them are out of focus but Emma is so fast these days. Let me know what you think and enjoy!

"What in the world are you doing to me?"

Very adorable face! Love it!

"But mooommm, daddy said I could play with his guitar!"

Doesn't she have some gorgeous blue eyes?

One Word-TEETHING!

Ugh. Why is teething so hard? Emma got her first molar in no problem but now she has a few teeth coming in at that same time and it is horendous! Last night she went to sleep around 7:30 and and started whining around 10pm I believe. Then from 10:30ish-12:15 George tried to comfort her and put her back to sleep but she wasn't having it. So Mommy tried to work her magic from 12:15-3am and finally got her back to bed. Yes folks, I said 3am! We watched 2 episodes of Baby Babble and that did the trick. She was so miserable her poor nose was so snotty and you could just tell she was in pain. She would kick and scream and wouldn't even take the Motrin. Feeling helpless with your child is one of the worst things in the world I think. Usually I can make her all better but not last night. But we made it and lets hope today is better. So far her nose is still snotty but it isn't running as bad as it was.

Hopefully I'll get some new pics up this week. We've been SO busy the past week with Starlena & Kelsey in town and then my friend Tammy spent the weekend with us too. So I'm a little behind but I promise to post pics soon! :)

This Is For Emma's Ru-Rus!

So it is no secret that Miss Emma is obsessed with her Ru-Rus (g's dad) and her cousin Isaac. She wants to look at his pictures on the blog constantly and will throw a screaming, punching, kicking fit if I make her get down from the computer. It's funny and frustrating at the same time! :) Anyways, yesterday while using the potty she kissed a baby on her book. Then she said "kiss Ru-Rus" so I said after you finish pottying you can kiss him on the computer. Sure enough she was finished so we ran in here and I pulled him up.

Ru-Rus you have a stalker! She thinks you are the greatest!

Giving Ru-Rus some sugar!

How cute is that?

Guess What???

Last night Emma went pee pee on her potty!!! She was so excited and so were we. I immediately made a big ta-doo about it and George came running in all excited. We want her to know how awesome it is!

If anyone has any ideas I'm thinking of rewarding her with a treat of some sort when she uses the potty. One person said they gave an M&M each time her little one went, but those are just too tempting for me! Any ideas on a good treat??

It's P-O-T-T-Y Time!

In honor of Emma's 18 month mark yesterday, I decided to break down and buy a potty seat. Emma's been telling me for about 2 months now when she has to go poo-poo but hasn't started telling me about her pee pee yet. So this afternoon I sat her on it and she was so excited it was the cutest thing ever! She kept saying "potty" and "pee pee" and then asked for a book. How smart is she? I think she ended up sitting there about 20 minutes or so the first time. She didn't want to get off of it. Then I let her play outside in the water for a bit and we tried the potty again. I don't think she ever used it but she's excited about the concept of it so I was thrilled. A little while ago I was cooking dinner and next thing I know she is screaming and trying to get on the potty herself. I was in the middle of cleaning chicken so it took me a minute to get in there. She was hysterical until I put her on the potty and then she was so excited. Once again, don't think she actually did anything but it's a start. Wish us luck on our journey through potty training!

Emma can multitask...she said "cheese" while using the potty!

What a happy little girl!

We love funny faces!

Reading Twinkle Toes while doing her business...good stuff!

Swim For Melissa Was A Success!

On Saturday we made the trip over to Hampton Cove for the Swim For Melissa fundraiser. Thanks to every who donated b/c this year they raised over $130,000!!! Isn't that amazing? Hopefully they will be able to purchase 3 more Omni Giraffe beds for our NICU.

It was such a beautiful day on Saturday and we got to see Ella and Silas, our 2 NICU friends. :)
