Pic Time Again!

Braxton and Lily being cute together on the bed.

Emma in a beautiful dress...what a cutie!

She is now in all newborn size clothing! She is also starting to notice things more. When she is in her swing she will stare at the mobile and she just looks amazed. I also think I've heard her laugh twice but maybe I'm just crazy! She definitely smiles and loves to have lots of attention! We've got a busy weekend with friends coming by today and family coming this weekend. I'll post lots more pics later! Everyone have a wonderful weekend!

Stuff...

Today my grandparents came down from Sparta and we had a good visit. They hadn't seen her since she was in the NICU so she had changed a lot! They enjoyed holding her and playing with her toys.

Something that was kind of cool...my pa has a 1st cousin that lives down the road in Athens and he always talks about him, but he hasn't seen him in like 25-30 years. Well my granny got his phone number and address not long ago and brought it with her. We tried calling him but never got an answer so I looked up his address on Mapquest and he only lives 4.5 miles from us! So after we fed Emma we drove over to his house and my pa got to visit with him! It was so neat that he lives just down the road. They had a good visit and next time they come down they will see him again.

George's mom bought Emma a bumbo seat the other day and I had to try it out last night! I belong to a pregnancy board online and lots of women have already tried theirs out so I thought why not? She fit really well in the seat and sat there for probably 15 minutes. I love the picture of her seating at the computer desk with George! Isn't she a doll?!

Yesterday our old neighbor/friend stopped by to visit with her daughter Barbara and her friend Erica. I promised her I wouldn't show a pic of her on here but this is her holding Emma football style. Emma loved being held this way!

Cute Pics

Emma's Eye Dr Appt

Yesterday we went back to the retina specialist. Emma started seeing him when she was 4 weeks old in the NICU and now we continue to see him every 2-3 weeks. Since she was so premature and on the ventilator her blood vessels haven't fully developed. She has stage 2 retinopathy which means there is a wall that has formed and the blood vessels have to jump over the wall and finish growing. Yesterday he said they were looking much better and she only has a 1-2% chance of something being wrong. We have to continue seeing him until there is a 0% chance. I did ask him if there is a possibility of her being blind and he said no. That made me feel much better! So we are going back in 3 weeks and hopefully that will be our last visit.

Emma's Pediatrician Appt

Today Emma had her 4 month pediatrician appointment and she got her shots. She was such a good girl and she hardly cried at all. I was so proud of her. First off, let me say I am the proud mother of a 6 1/2 pound beautiful girl! She is also 19.5 inches long...when did she get so big? The doctor was really happy with her length/weight/head circumference. We talked about her smiling and making eye contact and she should start cooing soon! Overall it was a good appointment even the shots part. They gave her a total of 3 shots and one orally. We have to go back in August for her 6 month shots.

Tomorrow she has to go back to the eye doctor. We were supposed to go 2 weeks ago but somehow I messed up my dates so we are a little behind. I'm hoping her blood vessels are matured and we don't have to go back!

That's all I can think of for now. George's parents came in today to help take her to both doctor's appointments and I think they are leaving on Wednesday. My Granny Scott and Pa are coming down on Thursday and then I have a doctor's appointment on Friday. Very busy week for the Titsworth's!

I hope everyone has a great week!

Funny...

George's mom brought this shirt with her last week. It was his sister's shirt when she was little and we had to put it on Emma. Too funny! I hope this doesn't offend anyone.

George's Birthday!

Today is George's birthday and he is the BIG 25! He's half way to 50! For the first time ever I didn't buy him anything but I told him to pick out a pair of tennis shoes b/c he has been wanting/needing a new pair for awhile. We did get out of the house tonight and go to Sonic for dinner and then we rode around for a few minutes. I LOVE getting out of the house! Hopefully next year I can plan something bigger and more fun for him.

Have a great night!

Last Week

I'm sorry I haven't updated the blog in awhile but it seems like it takes time that I don't have or I'm just being lazy! Last week was a good week. I don't think Emma had any really fussy days so that's always a good thing. On Wednesday my Granny Dunham and Uncle Arnold or "Chucky" came down to visit and they stayed the night. First let me say don't give them directions b/c they sure don't follow them! Just kidding. Anyways, I was so excited to have them here and they had a good time holding Emma and getting to know her. On Thursday she had a doctor's appt so they helped me take her. Here are a few pics...

Emma went to see the lung doctor on Thursday and she weighed 5 lbs 14 oz so as of now she is over 6 lbs! I can really tell she is getting bigger too. George and I were kind of disappointed at the appt b/c even with the extra oxygen she still wasn't breathing as well as we would have liked. So...we have to go back in 4 wks and they will try to wean her down then. Which means she will probably be on oxygen for another 8 wks. At the appt her nose canula was clogged with lots of boogers so we wonder if that was the problem but the doctor doesn't let you clean them out and retest her and stuff so I was really bummed. I can not wait for the day when she isn't hooked up to anything!
Now I have to brag on my wonderful George! He let me sleep ALL night Friday and Saturday in our bed while he slept in another room and got up for all of Emma's feedings! I am so grateful for that b/c I got some much needed sleep. He never complained or anything. So last night I slept in another room and took care of her so he could sleep. I put Emma down in her crib at 10:30 last night and she slept until 5:00 am!!! I still can't believe it! After I fed her and pumped we layed backed down and slept for 1 1/2 hours. I feel like a new woman this week! I've also lost a total of 4 lbs in 2 wks according to Saturday's weigh in so I'm making progress. I did eat a couple of unhealthy meals last week and only walked a couple of days so this week I have to work harder. I guess that sums up our week and I'll leave you with a cute pic of Emma sleeping on me yesterday I think...

Our Week

On Tuesday George's sister Beth came down to visit and she stayed the night with us. We had such a great time visiting and Emma and I were sad to see her leave. She was such a big help to me! Since Emma loves to be held, she held her a good portion of the day and that gave me a much needed break to relax, pump, eat, and whatever else. She even woke up in the middle of the night for her feedings and changed several of her diapers! What a good sister-in-law! This was also the first time she has gotten to hold Emma so here are 2 pics...

She had planned on staying until George got off of work Wednesday but then he had to work late so she left around 5pm...well later George called and he had to work really late and didn't get home until 1 o'clock in the morning! I was kind of bummed but we managed. It gets so lonely being here by myself all day. We've also started sleeping on the couch with her and the other sleeps in the bed so at least one of us gets some sleep. Well I spent 2 nights on the couch and last night I went to bed at 7:30pm and woke up once to pump at 10:30 and then slept until 8:30 this morning! It felt so good to sleep in our bed again and not be interrupted. Poor George didn't get much sleep so he's been sleeping most of the day.

So in other news we totally deserve the bad parents of the week award! In case you don't know Emma has an apnea monitor and she has a belt to wear around her chest to monitor her breathing. The belt is held on by a piece of plastic velcro which is very rough. Well we gave her a bath on Sunday I think and put the belt back on and haven't thought anything else about it until yesterday when I'm changing her clothes. I happen to lift her right arm up and see some red and then I noticed her poor armpit has been sliced open! There was yellow gook coming out and apparently the velcro had been under her arm and had rubbed it! I immediately called the doctor's office b/c it looks like it is infected and we took her in in the afternoon. It is a really bad cut so they gave us an antibiotic and some prescription cream. They did culture it for a staff infection but it came back negative so that's great. They did weigh her while we were there and she is a whopping 5 lbs 7.4 oz!!! She is growing so fast! We ended up taking her back to the doctor today just to have another look and it is already getting better. They said she is doing awesome and they understood it was an accident. So now we go back in about 2 wks for her 4 month shots.

I also started weight watchers last Saturday to lose some of this flab and I'm really excited about it! I have more points than normal since I'm pumping but I should still lose weight. Tomorrow morning is my 1st weigh in and I can't wait to go. I will update on many pounds I've lost. My overall goal is 35 lbs by Labor Day. I have to say that I've done really good this week...now if only I can keep this up forever! Wish me luck!

There's not a whole lot going on other than the normal everyday stuff. Our friend Katie is having a cookout tomorrow night and we might try to take turns and go. We really need to see our friends. George also got me 2 tickets to see Dierks Bentley on June 16th! He is coming to Redstone Arsenal and that will be good for me to get out of the house. I'm really excited and I have to get my running shoes on b/c it's a race to get to the stage! Oh I also got to go to Nashville last Saturday to visit my friend Josh and a friend we used to work with at Rafferty's. Josh used to live in NYC and then moved to SC a couple of years ago and I havent' seen him since so that was really nice. Josh and I used to live together in college. He brought his girlfriend with him too. Well I guess this is all for now! I hope everyone has a great weekend!
